Nature’s Best Healer – Mushrooms

We have all heard and/or prepared some of the more common mushrooms in cooking: white button, portabella etc. You can get the best guide on dose therapy.

Some medicinal mushrooms can be included in cooking, while others are used as tinctures and extracts. The mushrooms can be taken in the form of teas, tinctures or extracts, as well as in capsules.

The medicinal mushroom list includes agaricus (or agaricus Blazei) mushroom, shitake mushroom, maitake mushroom and coriolus. Many other varieties exist, but the ones listed above are amongst the most common.

The chemical and genetic structures of medicinal mushrooms like these are very similar to those found in humans. According to many scientists, mushrooms share more genetic similarities with humans than nearly any other plant.

Reishi mushrooms are one of China’s best-known healing mushrooms, though they can also be found around the globe. Reishi mushrooms are sometimes called “the mushroom immortality” because they can be consumed daily as tonic herbs and help to extend life.

Reishi mushrooms are often used in the East to boost immunity by HIV-positive and cancer patients. Reishi also helps reduce inflammation and fatigue. It is believed to heal viral infections in the body.

Another of the strongest medicinal mushrooms is the Maitake. Maitake is used culinarily as well as medicinally, and is a very powerful source of beta-glucan polysaccharides–potent immune system healing chemicals.

It is also used for diabetes, high cholesterol and cancer prevention. Maitake helps to boost the natural killer cells in the body and rid it of any immune problems.
